Blank Rome communications head goes to Bravo

Topper Ray, the longtime Blank Rome chief communications officer, is leaving the law firm to become president of Bravo Group Communications, effective Jan. 3.

In his new role, Ray will lead Bravo?s communications practice.

Ray, also a principal in lobbying subsidiary Blank Rome Government Relations, plans on continuing to represent Blank Rome as an outside consultant, something he did for a decade while working at The Tierney Group.

Bravo Group was founded by CEO Chris Bravacos and has communications and government relations divisions. Ray will serve as president of the communication division while Dennis Walsh is president of government relations. Ray will also be responsible for expanding the agency?s operations in the mid-Atlantic region.

Ray joined Blank Rome in 2003 as a founding principal of Blank Rome Government Relations and director of communications and public relations for Blank Rome. He represented the firm while serving as senior vice president at Tierney Communications

Ray served as a press aide to then President George H.W. Bush in the Office of Presidential Advance, and as a presidential campaign lead press advance representative for the Republican National Committee.

Bravo has offices in Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. Ray will work in Philadelphia and Paoli, where Bravo affiliate Omega Group is based. Omega is a branding and strategic research firm.
